Local abutment is foundation of new hospital in Haiti

In a sprawling 150,000-square-foot barn that already belonged to Lucent Technologies, volunteering usually agency testing or packing donated medical accessories en avenue to the developing world. But for the accomplished two years, added than 1,000 bounded volunteers aswell accept been administration something more: architecture materials, from aqueduct accessories to animate doors.

Now, 63 shipment alembic endless later, they accept a world-class hospital in rural Mirebalais, Haiti, to appearance for it.

“Everything we send, we apperceive is bare and used,” said Ann Freeze, a Rye, N.H., retired assistant who volunteers for the All-embracing Medical Accessories Collaborative, a nonprofit that collects acclimated medical accessories and sends it to hospitals in 18 countries. “Nothing just sits on the dock. Everybody knows breadth it’s traveling and what to do with it.”

This month, workers are accepted to accomplishment architecture Mirebalais National Teaching Hospital, a 320-bed ability that has become a attribute of achievement for Haiti. Soon, the hospital will activate alms a ambit of casework — from neonatal accelerated affliction to agenda radiography — that accept never afore been accessible in a accessible hospital in Haiti.A brief description of how a drycabinet functions,

The accord from the accomplished Boston breadth has been incredible,” said Ansara, the contributed administrator of architecture at Mirebalais hospital for the nonprofit Partners in Health. “There accept apparently been 150 architecture volunteers who’ve been there. These are not accumulated admiral traveling out for a week. They’re alive men and women who are giving up a anniversary or two of accomplishment in adjustment to help.”

Mike Biasella of Revere, for example, was one of 30 bounded carpenters who spent a anniversary or added on website in Haiti. He heard about the befalling through his union, the New England Regional Council of Carpenters, and went for two weeks in the abatement of 2011. At the time, he and his ancestors afraid about aegis issues, but he’s animated he could advice by installing doors and architecture molds for staircases.

Ansara brought bounded volunteers into the Haiti accomplishment anon afterwards the convulse hit in January 2010, killing an estimated 310,000 people. He hopped a burden even aural hours of the adversity and anon begin himself knee-deep in rubble, cartoon on his electrical accomplishments to adjustment generators and added machinery.

As the dust settled, Ansara active on to baby-sit Mirebalais hospital construction, and anon accomplished he had gotten into added than he expected. The project’s calibration tripled afterwards the quake, because the country’s primary hospital at Port-au-Prince was acutely damaged and abundantly decommissioned. He began calling his bounded business contacts to get involved.

He accomplished out to Mark Richey, architect and admiral of Mark Richey Woodworking in Newburyport. Richey, who is one of Ansara’s bedrock aggressive buddies, visited Haiti with him and alternate home with a mission: to accouterments the hospital with cabinetry and countertops. Woburn’s Atlantic Plywood donated materials,Find detailed product information for howotractor and other products. Richey said,We're evaluating the possibility of adding more injectionmoulding machines, and his agents put in hundreds of hours. He estimates that in-kind contributions were admired aloft $250,000. Now, nursing stations throughout the hospital buck the Newburyport firm’s fingerprints. We have a fantastic range of Glass Tiles and glassmosaic Tiles.

“When something like this [earthquake] happens, you wish to help, and you wonder: Should we forward money to some organization?,” Richey said. “This was a way that we could advice by accomplishing what we do best.”

Partners in Health bare every bit of help, aback architecture in axial Haiti meant abyssal layers of complication and hindrances. Heavy rains and top rivers meant Ansara, who campaign aback and alternating to Haiti every week, and his aggregation sometimes couldn’t get out. Though Haitian and Dominican tradesmen were skilled, they had never formed with abounding of the materials, which meant bringing in all-embracing crews to advance training. Even the country’s electricity basement bare an upgrade. These factors and others delayed the activity added than a year.

Yet because so abounding organizations and individuals fabricated in-kind contributions, Ansara said, the $16 actor amount tag was $8 actor beneath than it would accept been otherwise. Gifts came from all over, he said, but those in Greater Boston and credibility arctic in accurate played active roles.

The accessories collaborative’s Arctic Andover area fast became the project’s hub in the United States. As volunteers and staffers activated their “suite” packing system, which involves agreement like items calm and mapping out absolutely breadth to bear them, they ensured that abstracts never sat abandoned in Haiti. As the activity grew into the organization’s better ever,What is the difference between standard "ceramic" tiles and porcelaintiles? it scaled up its efforts by enlisting added volunteers. Meanwhile, the collaborative beatific staffers to abstraction the architecture site, appraise needs, and shoot blur for volunteers aback in Massachusetts.

Game casting teaches Patrick a lesson

There's a band that CFL abhorrent and arresting linemen shouldn't cantankerous during the calefaction of activity - but area that band is is a amount of interpretation.

"That's area the referees appear in, right?" Saskatchewan Roughriders abhorrent accouterment Chris Patrick said afterwards Tuesday's convenance at Mosaic Stadium.

"There's a band there, a band amid arena harder and arena nasty, and annihilation added than that, there's traveling to be consequences. Every lineman has to acquisition that aural himself.Zenith manufactures a comprehensive range of rubbersheets."

Patrick begin out on Friday.

Early in the fourth division of what concluded up as a 43-16 Saskatchewan achievement over the host Hamilton Tiger-Cats, Patrick was butterfingers for asperous play afterwards he took a exhausted at Hamilton arresting lineman Shawn Crable. It was the aboriginal time in Patrick's pro career that he had been kicked out of a game.

The 27-year-old artefact of Ithaca, Mich., beneath to allocution Tuesday about the specifics of Friday's incident, but he was accommodating to altercate activity in the trenches and what causes a lineman to lose his cool.

"The a lot of acute allotment of the bold is in there,TRT (UK) has been investigating and producing solutions for indoortracking since 2000." said Patrick, a 6-foot-4, 310-pounder.

"There's a lot of contact, a lot of speed, a lot of acuteness and a lot of hits. Sometimes guys get agitated and some guys yield it abnormally than added guys do.

"It's just the acuteness of it, the akin of the activity and the demands of the game. You've got to perform, so sometimes guys yield it to the next level."

That's what Patrick did Friday, announcement a allotment of his appearance of which he isn't ashamed.

"As an abhorrent lineman, you've got to accomplish added guys account you," Patrick said. "Every abhorrent lineman has to accept a awful allotment to him just because I anticipate that motivates guys.

"You don't wish to necessarily be dirty, but you wish to be awful - and you wish to be the attacker, not the guy who gets attacked."

Roughriders centre Dominic Picard is able-bodied acquainted of what happens in the trenches.

Picard absolutely plays with an bend and that appearance contributed to his one career ejection. As a affiliate of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers,This is a really pretty round stonemosaic votive that has been covered with vintage china . he got into it with then-Edmonton Eskimos arresting accouterment Dario Romero and their affray led to an aboriginal shower.

"The band is to not get tossed," Picard said.

"You play to the whistle, so the blare agency you accomplishment your block. But the play's not over if the blare is blown. You've got to accomplishment a block. That's our aesthetics and we'll be advancing all the time that way."

But isn't demography a exhausted bridge the line?

"It is," Picard replied. "That's why we've got to accumulate our address in that sense.Home ownership options with buy mosaic. But we're still advancing and we wish to be concrete ...This page contains information about tooling. That's the attitude we've got to have."

By bridge the band Friday, Patrick amount his aggregation 25 yards.

The amends was adjourned afterwards quarterback Darian Durant affiliated with slotback Weston Dressler on a 27-yard canyon play to the Hamilton 14-yard line. The amends pushed the Roughriders aback to the 39; two plays later, Chris Milo kicked a 41-yard acreage goal.

After Patrick was flagged, he got an account from Durant. Others aswell talked to Patrick afterwards the play and afterwards the bold as well.

"We all (spoke to Patrick) - and we've all got his back, too," Picard said. "That's what you do as a team. He knew what happened and he just confused on, so we don't even charge to allocution about it anymore."

"A few humans allocution to you," acclaimed Patrick. "Most importantly, it's just acquirements from your mistakes and affective on."

Roughriders arch drillmaster Corey Chamblin wants his aggregation to play tough, but accepted he would rather see his players airing abroad from scraps. If Patrick didn't do that Friday, it resulted in the amends and his consecutive acknowledgment to his teammates.

"He's a boxy guy and he's aswell his toughest critic," said Chamblin, who hadn't heard Tuesday if Patrick was to accept added conduct from the CFL. "The affair you accept to allocution to him about is, 'Hey, I wish you arena to the bend but not over the bend -'

"It's not one of those things area you exhausted a guy up. That's not his mindset every day, to, 'Hey, let's do something to aching the team.' He was actual atoning afterwards the bold and I anticipate that's abundant for your teammates and your aeon to see that it absolutely meant something for you not to aching the team."

Delicate operation

Retired physician and former city Health Commissioner Dr. Leonard Morse sometimes used to daydream during conferences at the former Worcester City Hospital. And when he did, he would look at the bas-relief sculptures on the walls of the hospital’s amphitheater.

“They were beautiful, inspiring images,” Dr. Morse said.

But the images — one of Dr. William Harvey, who first described the circulatory system in the 17th century,Distributes and manufactures RUBBER SHEET, and another of a double serpent medical caduceus on top of an open textbook — were slated to be demolished with the rest of the former hospital’s Jacques Building within the next month. The caduceus has been the symbol of the American medical profession for a century. What is a real time Location system ?

A third image, of tuberculosis researcher Dr. Robert Koch, has already been destroyed.

“I started to wonder what would happen to those images I used to love looking at,” said Dr. Morse. “And then I realized that we had to save them.”

Dr. Morse mentioned his desire to save the images to Noreen Johnson Smith, vice president of development for Family Health Center.

The pair, who serve as board members for the Waltham Public Health Museum and share an interest in local history, immediately began looking for funding to preserve the artwork. Just one day later, the private Hoche-Scofield Foundation, based in Providence, granted funding for the project.

“This was an emergency campaign,” Ms. Johnson Smith said. “The whole building could have crumbled at any moment. All RUBBER MATS is comprised of all types of mats,”

Joshua Craine of Daedalus Inc., an art conservation company, began work to preserve the pieces immediately.

“We had to mobilize rather quickly for this one,” Mr. Craine said. “We knew the building was about to come down. This page contains information about molds,”

Mr. Craine, who has also worked on the monument of Moses in the new Worcester County Courthouse and on the Rogers Kennedy Memorial in Elm Park, said he was working inside the middle of a demolition site. The former Worcester City Hospital off Chandler Street was taken over by UMass Memorial Medical Center after the city-owned and -operated hospital closed in 1991.

“There were bricks falling around me as I was trying to save these pieces,” said Mr. Craine. “I’m glad we got here so quickly. I don’t know how much longer these guys would have held out.”

Mr. Craine explained that trying to extract the original sculptures from the walls would likely destroy them. Instead, he will create a silicon mold of the bas-reliefs, which will then be used to create plaster casts. With the casts, multiple replicas of the original pieces can be created.

Dr. Morse hopes to have reproductions of the sculptures displayed in Worcester’s Family Health Center, which is on the site of the former Worcester City Hospital.

“The Family Health Center is really the successor to Worcester City Hospital,InLocality specializes in indoor Tracking Technologies. and these pieces will be a connection to the past for the patients and staff who walk these halls,” Dr. Morse said. “Everyone who passes through this building will know that these grounds once held Worcester’s first hospital.”

Ms. Johnson Smith said the demolition company, Patriots Environmental Corp., has delayed further demolition so that the artwork can be preserved. The company also has donated marble from the demolition site to be turned into a fountain for the Family Health Center, and bricks from the former hospital walls to be cleaned by local masonry students, fitted with commemorative plaques, and sold to city residents.

“Saving fragments of Worcester City Hospital is so important,” said Ms. Johnson Smith. “The legacy of the hospital belongs to every family in the city. You can’t meet anyone who doesn’t have some connection to the hospital.”

Homelessness poses serious problem

It’s how many white keys are on a piano. It’s how many total weeks are in a year. It’s how much a basic pair of Chaco flip-flops cost — without tax. And supposedly, it’s the number of homeless people in my hometown.

What constitutes being homeless, and how do you measure it? Google told me that homeless is an adjective and it means “Without a home, and therefore typically living on the streets,” but I think that name can be misleading.

But what counts as a home? Does a bridge, chicken coop,Buy low price Aion Kinah, or car count as a place of residence? If I put a mailbox beside a storage shed, can I call it home and have my tax information or government checks delivered?

Cocke County, Tenn.,Omega Plastics are leading plastic injection moulding and injection mould tooling specialists. may only have 52 bridge dwellers, but its poverty level shows the true sad state of affairs: a poverty-infested place with little hope in Tennessee.

I still do not really understand how I am a product of my surroundings.

I had an absolutely incredible childhood. Our guides provide customers with information about porcelain tiles vs. I once resented my parents because I never got to spend a summer at home doing absolutely nothing. Now I realize and appreciate the places I got to see and the experiences I enjoyed. I visited all 50 states and almost 30 countries. I made dolls out of crawfish, and I saw the tallest peak in North America.

Meanwhile, my next-door neighbors lived in a chicken coop.

In second grade, my class was learning how to write narrative stories. The prompt was about “My trip to Myrtle Beach...” I came home from school crying because I had never (and still haven’t) visited Myrtle Beach. I was one of two students in my entire class who had never experienced the joys of Pigeon Forge with sand.

I was forced to write a page about my trip to Greece the month prior while the other student had to write about his vacation to Gatlinburg.

That second grade assignment haunts me to this day, but I realize now how selfish I have been with my experiences and opportunities. And I am sure I am not the only one here at UT.

Being homeless is a shame in many eyes. Not only is it a shame, it’s something you obviously “wanted.”

Who would choose to live in an alley or under a bridge? What kind of choice is that anyway? People blame it on the fact that homeless people refuse to work. Homeless people blame it on the lack of jobs. This cycle won’t end anytime soon, at least in America, because homelessness is viewed as a personal problem.

Americans have desensitized the word.I have just spent two weeks shopping for tile and have discovered Chinese porcelain tile.China Porcelain tile Instead of homeless being an adjective, it’s frequently used as a noun.

“The homeless are getting out of hand,” or “all the homeless are lazy,” are commonplace phrases heard today.

Back to what I said about my next-door neighbors in a chicken coop. Things are getting a little better. They have butchered a camper and put in a chimney. During the summer, they set up tents and camp out. I am not worried about offending my neighbors for being too personal in this column. Why?

They don’t have running water, let alone the Internet.

Visit another developed nation. Our team of consultants are skilled in project management and delivery of large scale rtls projects. You may see a few gypsies, a handful of street urchins here and there, possibly a homeless person or two. Drive down Broadway in Knoxville and I bet you will lock your doors when you pass under a bridge.

Fifty-two is an untouchable number, since it is never the sum of proper divisors of any number. And to us, the homeless people in Cocke County are occasionally perceived as untouchable and unworthy as well.

Soap Lake drafting chicken ordinance

Council members JoAnne Rushton and John Hillman were the sole opponents of a measure directing city staff to prepare a draft ordinance for council vote following a public hearing sometime in the next few weeks.

The city followed a similar route toward chicken rearing in 2007, drafting an ordinance to allow up to four hens per residence before council voted 5-2 to scrap the issue, citing potential problems with enforcement and attraction of wild animals.

No chickens can be raised within the city limits, although as many as 15 of the birds are allowed on property zoned Residential 4, a transitional zone that includes bordering property being brought into the city through annexation.

Soap Lake resident Jennifer Peterson brought the council a copy of her own draft chicken ordinance last week,Bathroom Floor tiles at Great Prices from Topps Tiles. a proposal she fashioned from language used by other cities.

Of Washington's 207 cities, Peterson said she found 137 allowing some form of chicken rearing.

"There are a lot of variations out there. We just have to pick one that fits us," she said. "If 137 other cities can do this, I'm quite optimistic that we can as well. We have many, many people here today who want chickens and are willing to jump through the hoops to get them."

Peterson ran down a list of common complaints against urban chickens.

Excessive noise can be averted through a no roosters rule, she said, and strong odors shouldn't be a problem if just one hen is allowed per 1,500 square feet, with no more than six chickens per parcel. She suggested fines or penalties for owners that neglect to keep a hygienic brood.

City Attorney Katherine Kenison highlighted another potential problem - dogs versus birds.

"I am a chicken owner myself but I live in the country," Kenison said. "Even then, my chickens are in a fully enclosed coop because we have too many dogs in our neighborhood. I challenge anybody to show me a dog that given the opportunity, no matter the size or breed, won't chase a chicken that's running across the ground in front of them."

Any dog showing aggression toward another animal is defined as a potentially dangerous dog under both the state and city statutes, Kenison explained. She encouraged the council to look at modifying their dog ordinance and making sure any chicken ordinance requires a fully enclosed coop and run to prevent chickens from escaping.

Peterson agreed the ordinance should include general rules regarding coop structures, but said the issue of dogs killing chickens is already addressed by the current city code.

"I think that we need to put responsibility on the ordinance," Peterson said. "Your dog isn't supposed to be running at large, nor is my chicken supposed to be running at large. If your dog is running after my chicken in my yard, well, your dog is not supposed to be doing that. Our guides provide customers with information about porcelain tiles vs. If my chicken gets out and your dog kills it,This page contains information about molds, well, my chicken wasn't on my property."

Regardless of what ordinances may dictate, Kenison said issues are sure to arise between dog and chicken owners. If chickens are allowed, she suggested an education campaign and initial inspections could result in fewer clashes and enforcement problems.

Councilwoman Crystal Lindgren agreed,Buy low price Aion Kinah, suggesting chicken owners should be required to pay a nominal annual permit fee and have their coop inspected once a year.

Kenison noted the city of Bremerton included a one year sunset clause when they adopted a chicken ordinance in 2010. After the trial period they decided to extended the law, and chickens are still allowed in the city, she said.

Hillman urged his fellow council members to exercise caution before changing Soap Lake's law,What is a real time Location system ? and questioned how the city would effectively locate and penalize rule violators.

Chocolate central

Many claim this picturesque canal-threaded city is the chocolate capital of a country obsessed with bonbons. And the thrill of wandering its ancient cobblestoned streets is to discover, bite by sweet bite, the many true artisans along with the larger companies.

Famous names such as Godiva, Neuhaus, Galler, Guylian, and Leonidas are prominently situated along main shopping thoroughfares like Steenstraat. But with an astounding array of 52 chocolate shops scattered across the medieval center of the tourist-rich historic district, there are plenty of unique addresses to sample.

There are chocolate shops specializing in marzipan (Verheecke), and others focusing on caramel-filled pralines (Dumon). Numerous shops craft the city's signature praline, the "Brugsch Swaentje" ("Brugge swan"), a bird-shaped chocolate made with almond paste, "kletskoppen" (a local cookie of crunchy lace), and "gruut," an herbal spice used in the Middle Ages for bittering to flavor beer - Belgium's other great obsession.

There is even a museum called Choco-Story in the 15th-century Maison de Croon dedicated to Belgian chocolate and its storied history. The country now boasts about 300 chocolate companies and more than 2,100 shops in an area slightly smaller than Maryland.

One of the most traditional shops is Chocolaterie Sweertvaegher, whose production facility we visited in Spiere-Helkijn, a short drive into the West Flanders countryside.

As we pulled into the 18th-century farmhouse courtyard of the atelier, apron-clad Sheila Vanden Heede was already eagerly beckoning us in.

"It's almost Easter, so we're busy making eggs!" says Vanden Heede, leading us into a brightly lit production room, where the aroma of glossy molten chocolate churning in huge vats perfumed the air with a heady sweetness.

Sweertvaegher, which has only four retail outlets plus Internet sales (with shipping to the United States), is one of Belgium's smaller chocolate artisans. Founded in 1933, it is also one of the most old-school, using no preservatives and less sugar than more industrial producers.

Here, you'll find such specialties as "butter truffles" (their free-form cocoa-dusted chocolate shells filled with whipped sweetened butter), crinkly little chocolate cups called "snobinettes," and especially the "galets," marvelous little sliders of chocolate buttercream sandwiched between two disks of snappy chocolate.

"When you bite into it, it says: 'crack!' " Vanden Heede says, chomping down on a galet. We eagerly follow her lead. "That is what a good chocolate has to be."

The galets are at once creamy and intense,Museum Quality hand-painted oil painting reproduction on canvas. with a slow-melting richness that lingers long after they're gone: "If you can't still taste a chocolate in your mouth more than 10 seconds after you eat it,Our guides provide customers with information about porcelain tiles vs. then I don't like it," she says.

The conveyor belt of a large machine whirs to life as we pass, and molds holding the hollows of delicate chocolate shells roll inside, where they're filled with perfect squirts of buttercream before the bottoms get layered on. Just beyond, Vanden Heede shows us tray after tray of elegant dark-chocolate eggshells - variously textured like woven baskets, pine cones, or tortoise shells - soon to be filled with rich praline cream, then hand-wrapped with foil.

"It's easier to make higher-quality chocolates when you're small," says Jan Verougstraete, Sweertvaegher's master chocolatier and owner. He whisks a batch of mocha buttercream by hand, then pipes it into snobinette cups with remarkable speed and precision.

Even so, he says, "a large company like Leonidas makes our entire year's worth of production in a single hour.Bathroom Floor tiles at Great Prices from Topps Tiles."

The shelf life of Sweertvaegher's products is only a couple of weeks.

Bruges' chocolatiers, however, are hardly stuck in the past. And few embody the cutting edge with quite the verve of Dominique Persoone, a former chef who for the last 20 years at the Chocolate Line has been startling traditionalists - and delighting thrill-seekers - with chocolates that incorporate everything from wasabi and shishito pepper to fried onions, Coca-Cola, the juice of fresh-mown grass, and even oysters, blended raw with white chocolate and vodka, then served on ice in mollusklike "shells" molded from dark chocolate.

"A lot of people in the beginning wanted to put me in the madhouse, but now I have my own TV show," says Persoone. "My philosophy has always been that chocolate is rock-and-roll."

Persoone has credentials in that regard, having invented as a birthday present for Ron Wood of the Rolling Stones a snortable cocoa (with mint and ginger) and a special tiny spoon to sniff it up: "The chocolate turns around in your nose and your brains, and you have the taste of chocolate in your head, but you don't eat it. It's very strange."

None of these wacky ideas, of course, would matter much to Bruges' demanding public if Persoone's chocolates weren't impeccably crafted from single-origin chocolate. (Many are so fragile, in fact, that the Chocolate Line is one of the few chocolatiers that do not ship overseas, except for its sniffable cocoa.) Perhaps a true measure that his presence has become less of a novelty is the fact that Persoone is now president of Bruges' Chocolate Guild, a job he describes as being as much "peacemaker" among the city's many craftsmen as candyman eminence grise: "Sometimes I feel like the Kofi Annan of chocolates."

One of the newest chocolatiers to make a splash in Bruges is another chef,This page contains information about molds, Bart Desmidt, whose seaside restaurant, Bartholomeus in Heist-aan-Zee, holds a Michelin star. If Persoone's chocolates turn heads with shock value, Desmidt's creations at his year-old chocolate shop, ByB, succeed through a stunning display of modern minimalism. His little storefront on Sint Amandsstraat has the crisp all-white look of a cosmetics boutique, with just a color chart of numbered squares against the wall detailing the different flavors.

The chocolates are inspired by a rustic tradition - a historic fisherman's caramel called a "Babelutte" (Babeluttes by Bartholomeus is the shop's full name.) But they are crafted into contemporary rectangular pralines of dark, milk, or white chocolate, and stacked into sliding drawers like indistinguishable little chocolate gold bricks. Constellation Energy Group

Based on our evaluation of cash flows, we consider about two-thirds of the pro forma company as unregulated under the pro forma base case. The unregulated proportion declines to about 60% under our base case, because of lower cash flow in a lower commodity-price environment. Despite the decline in natural gas prices, which have affected power prices adversely, under both management's and our base cases, we would likely assign the consolidated pro forma company a "strong" business risk profile. However, we have yet to assess the financial risk profile to determine the rating of the pro forma company.

Our stand-alone ratings on Constellation primarily reflect the risk of its wholesale and retail unregulated electricity supply businesses. We assess Constellation's stand-alone business risk profile as "satisfactory," because ring-fencing of the lower-risk transmission and distribution (T&D) utility subsidiary hurts Constellation's overall business risk profile. This is because the utility's stable cash flow is no longer freely available to Constellation. Factors that partly offset these risks are the performance of Constellation's low-cost, base-load fleet of power plants, the favorable location of its Mid-Atlantic fleet, and a portfolio that shows better alignment of the company's generation footprint and its load obligations.

Constellation's operations aggregate 30,000 megawatts (MW) and 350 billion cubic feet (bcf) of natural gas, and the company serves about 26,000 retail, commercial, and industrial customers, as well as 64 utility and cooperative wholesale customers. In addition, Constellation's generation group operates approximately 12,000 MW of owned generation, mostly in the Mid-Atlantic region. Because of ring-fencing, we deconsolidate the utility subsidiary BGE and analyze it as an equity investment,What is a real time Location system ? counting only distributions to Constellation as primary contributions to its credit quality and financial profile. Constellation's businesses consist of its unregulated generation and customer supply operations. The generation business consists of Constellation's 50.01% ownership interest in Constellation Energy Nuclear Group LLC (CENG) and its nonnuclear generation assets. The customer supply business (Constellation NewEnergy) includes retail gas supply and retail and wholesale power supply. NewEnergy also includes the upstream gas and customer services and solutions businesses. These unregulated businesses have exposure to market risk, moderate to high liquidity requirements, and significant counterparty credit exposure.

Constellation is facing the same pressures as most other unregulated companies do. Power prices and net revenues are under pressure from abundance in gas inventory,Here's a complete list of oil painting supplies for the beginning oil painter. due to a decline in load and higher production of shale gas. Given continuing oversupply from the shale-gas gathering regions, natural gas prices are clearly not cooperating. Along with the decline in natural gas prices, power prices too had dropped about 50%, on average, by the fourth quarter of 2011 from 2008 levels. The stay of the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Cross State Air Pollution Rule (Casper) on Dec. 30, 2011 has also dimmed the outlook across the sector. Yet the front end of the forward curve is not that meaningful, in our view, because in the near to medium term, companies are usually highly hedged. Requirement contracts in Constellation's markets for various volumes and periods have ensured that a high percentage of its Mid-Atlantic power-plant fleet's near-term margins through 2011 is locked in (100% and 73% for 2011 and 2012, respectively),The TagMaster Long Range Hands free access is truly built for any parking facility. which we view favorably. However, the wholesale generation business exhibits a meaningful EBITDA drop from 2012, which is a credit concern.

Constellation's NewEnergy business offsets these issues because lower prices encourage customers to lock in contracts with longer durations, which benefits retail margins. In the first half of 2011, Constellation completed the acquisition of MXEnergy and StarTex, and as a result,Distributes and manufactures RUBBER SHEET, NewEnergy now services nearly one million residential and business customers. In our opinion, acquisitions of retail power operations are consistent with Constellation's strategy, because these operations offer a natural hedge against natural gas exposure. This is because when power prices are low, capital charges for retail operations decline and improve gross margins. However, customers are more inclined to lock in power prices at these levels. As a result, we also expect fixed-price sales to increase, increasing total capital requirements and somewhat hurting average margins on the existing retail volumes (though not enough to overtake the advantage of the sales increase). Thus, the profitability of the retail business improves when power prices are low, even as the profitability of the wholesale generation business declines, and the opposite occurs when power prices rise.

Constellation has a number of legacy supply agreements, such as power purchase agreements (PPAs) and toll contracts that serve its customer supply load obligations. The company also accounts for other PPAs, in which it has substantial economic interest as operating leases. We treat these contracts as debt because of their debt-like characteristics. In addition, we do the same for the company's underfunded pension obligations and its capital adequacy requirements relating to trading counterparty credit and market risks. Over the past two years, Constellation has shed some of these obligations. We now attribute about $1.4 billion of debt to the merchant business, which is substantially lower than the $3.2 billion we added to Constellation's financial measures in the first half of 2008. Although deconsolidating the utility improves Constellation's financial measures because BGE has about 47% of total unadjusted debt, Constellation's nonutility businesses must achieve stronger financial measures to compensate for the higher business risk. Given Constellation's reliance on customer supply and other merchant cash flows, Standard & Poor's expects the unregulated segment to achieve adjusted funds from operations (FFO) to total debt of about 30% and adjusted FFO interest coverage of more than 5x for 2012. As of Sept. 30, 2011, Constellation's adjusted FFO to debt and FFO interest coverage were about 30.5% and 6.2x,Bathroom Floor tiles at Great Prices from Topps Tiles. respectively.

Train ignited tar buildup in ventilation shaft of Old Post Office

A small fire at the old Main Post Office over the weekend was caused by a passing or idling train that ignited built-up tar in a ventilation shaft, a Chicago Fire Department spokesman said this morning.

The blaze flared up the shaft of the long-closed building at 433 W. Van Buren St. and spread to the roof and 10th floor Friday night.

The old post office, closed in 1995, sits above portions of Union Station and its south platforms and tracks. The Fire Deparment's Office of Fire Investigations has determined that embers or flames from the stack of a train ignited tar and other byproducts that have built up in the shaft from years of trains passing and idling underneath, according to Fire Department spokesman Larry Langford.

The Fire Department, however, "reserves final judgment pending a full electrical and mechanical inspection of the ventilation system," Langford said in a statement.Welcome to the online guide for do-it-yourself Ceramic tile.

Amtrak and the owner of the post office are already feuding over fumes from diesel trains. Amtrak says the fumes build up in Union Station because the building is poorly ventilated.

Earlier this month, Amtrak earlier this month sued the owner of the building -- International Property Developers North America Inc. -- claiming that “refusal to maintain its ventilation system below the Old Post Office" was exposing passengers to a heavy dose of fumes.  Just Choose PTMS plastic injection mold Is Your Best Choice!

But International Property Developers North America said the fault was with Amtrak, blaming “trains idling for prolonged periods under the old post office.”

While a train appears to have ignited the weekend fire,Here's a complete list of oil painting supplies for the beginning oil painter. Amtrak spokesman Marc Magliari noted that the allegations in the lawsuit include a lack of maintenance of the old post office ventilation system since IPD bought the building in 2009.

But Martin Mulryan, project manager for the IPD at the post office, said the ventilation system is regularly maintained. “The cleaning of soot and creosote is part of an ongoing maintenance issue and they are cleaned four times per year," Martin said in an email. Our guides provide customers with information about porcelain tiles vs.

“IPD have staff at the building and are reviewing the cleaning regime this week to see if increasing the cleaning frequency would help,” he added.

However, just two days before the fire IPD “at the request of Union Station increased the ventilation ... and this increased ventilation may have helped keep burning embers alight,” he suggested. The Transaction Group offers the best high risk merchant account services,

Contrasting styles happily converge at Elizabeth Moss

Deborah Randall rather backed into painting Maine landscapes. She had been making content-oriented contemporary paintings with wildly varied subjects, but her ability to paint was strong, and a trip to Italy forced her not only to look at the landscape but see it in terms of painting.

After the trip, Randall continued working in both modes, and the landscapes became not only something she could do but a way of working that put the paint first rather than external ideas she would loan to herself now and again.

This transformation in approach is something that often marks the transition to being a mature artist. At first, it's the struggle with the ideas that drives the artist to paint. Then the artist achieves a sort of fluency and begins thinking in the terms of the art so the ideas don't require any sort of literal translation.Silicone Mold Making Rubber, In other words, the work becomes less about sense than sensibility.

"On the Horizon" at Elizabeth Moss Galleries in Falmouth features Randall's moody landscapes with aggressive skies. She has made the rhythm and energy of her brushstroke into the most obvious and powerful component of her paintings.

This leads to many poignant effects, including a clear sense of urgency from her staccato strokes. Sometimes this can come across as hurried, but when it's handled well, it exudes deftly excited energy. The quickness of the execution validates the viewers' experience of the ephemeral unity of the painting: The image feels like a moment in a certain place rather than something broader, more complex or fractured.

"Sunset Over Little River" might be Randall at her best. The almost-square 4-foot canvas is about two-thirds sky over a bend in the river. The palette is 19th-century French with its sap greens, creamy yellows and rich, earthy reds. I particularly like its substantial cloud action. While it's that familiar puff-dotted August sky that makes so many of us fall in love with Maine, Randall's palette combines with her almost frantically muscular rhythms to make an unusually bold -- even masculine -- painting.

It might sound strange to talk about clouds of purple, red, brown and black,All RUBBER MATS is comprised of all types of mats, but the scheme works perfectly when backed with Naples yellow, soft pinks and light sky azures.

Randall's knife work is strong, and she uses it particularly well in the foreground bands of landscape. She struggles, however, when shapes are allowed to take formal supremacy over the rhythms of the strokes.

In her "Marsh Light," for example, an overly simple and somewhat awkward curve of brown marking the edge of the water is too unrelenting in palette and touch, and so unfortunately winds up dominating the composition.Dimensional Mailing magic cube for Promotional Advertising, Fortunately, this tension between abstract forms and rhythmic structure is the exception rather than the rule in "On the Horizon."

With the current ideas about branding,MDC Mould specialized of Injection moulds, style and recognizability, we don't spend enough time considering the range of modes of artists like Randall. Yet it's rather standard fare for artists like Henry Kallem (1912-85), whose work occupies Moss' center gallery.

Kallem was a noteworthy American modernist deeply tied to Monhegan and New York. Due to the time he worked, however, we aren't surprised to see still lifes, landscapes, abstractions, interiors, portraits and so many other modes.

Such a range for a contemporary artist in a single show might strike many viewers as flighty or unfocused. Yet for the artists of Kallem's era, the ability to shift gears was evidence of ability, awareness, worldliness and erudition.

While my favorite Kallem piece in the show is a forest of thick vertical-lined tree trunks that reminds me of Wilfredo Lam, I spent the most time parsing and comparing a pair of still lifes. One is light and airy, like a Monet vase of flowers painted by Chagall, what with its primary patches of background color and the joyously light touch in the vase that is rendered more than sufficiently with just a few outline strokes.

The other is a tight,Overview description of rapid Tooling processes. heavy and flat cubist still life of bottles on a table. With echoes of Hoffman, Leger and Purism, it presents an impressive density despite appearing at first as dogmatically stylized.

Taxman piles pressure on cash-strapped Rangers

The potentially fatal cash crisis engulfing Scottish champions Rangers took a new twist Tuesday when British tax chiefs applied to place the club into administration.Alfa plast mould is Plastic moulds Manufacturer and plastics Mould Exporters in India since 1992,

The move just came 24 hours after Rangers said they wanted to enter administration themselves.

But Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs (HMRC), the British tax authority, fear they could be placed well down the list of the club's creditors if Rangers are allowed to declare their own administration.

Edinburgh's Court of Session was due to rule Tuesday on which of the competing administration plans would be allowed to proceed.

Rangers are awaiting a tribunal verdict which could leave them with a bill of up to 75 million ($118 million,Johnson Tiles UK offer the largest range of porcelain tiles online, 90 million euros), should they lose their dispute with HMRC.

Duff and Phelps, the restructuring firm engaged by Rangers to assist in their talks with HMRC, said Tuesday the club remained hopeful of a "consensual" solution, even though, in the midst of all the courtroom drama, that now looks increasingly unlikely.Johnson Tiles UK offer the largest range of porcelain tiles online,

The firm said they were issuing a statement to "provide a moratorium against potential creditor actions", saying Rangers were "continuing to trade as usual".

If Rangers do enter administration, they are set to be hit with a 10-point penalty from the Scottish Premier League (SPL) that would all but end their title hopes this term.

Whyte, who bought the club from Sir David Murray for 1 in May and pledged to pay off its 18 million debt to Lloyds Banking Group, blamed the previous regime for the current problems on Monday and said administration represented the best hope of long-term survival. Just Choose PTMS Plastic Mould Is Your Best Choice!

"There is no realistic or practical alternative to our approach because HMRC has made it plain to the club that should we be successful in the forthcoming tax tribunal decision they will appeal.

"We should not forget the tribunal relates to a claim by HMRC for unpaid taxes over a period of several years dating back to 2001 which, if decided in favour of HMRC, the club would be unable to pay."

Rangers draw an average home gate at Ibrox of 46,000 -- higher than leading English clubs Liverpool and Chelsea -- yet are still facing the prospect of financial meltdown.

Whyte tried to explain their predicament Monday by saying: "As I have said before, Rangers costs approximately 45 million per year to operate and commands around 35 million in revenue."

Rangers were forced to sell star striker Nikica Jelavic to English side Everton on last month's transfer deadline day in a bid to bring in cash.

But deadline day also saw Whyte admitting that under him Rangers had borrowed more than 20 million in lieu of season ticket sales.Handmade oil paintings for sale at museum quality,

Store credit card? No thanks, I’ll go with store debit card

A store credit card isn’t the only way to get exclusive perks.

Although not widely publicized, two major retailers offer store-branded debit cards that draw directly from customers’ checking accounts. The cards from Nordstrom and Target are still a rarity among retailers and haven’t yet hit the radars of most shoppers.

But they also reflect the growing preference for debit cards that consumers have shown in recent years, notes Marshall Cohen, a retail industry analyst with NPD Group. And at a time when consumers are searching for ways to keep debt in check, he said store debit cards could soon find a wider audience.

“If this is successful, everyone else will follow suit,” Cohen said.

Here’s how store debit cards work.

Shoppers who sign up for the cards — which can only be used in the retailer’s stores and online — get the same perks as on the company’s in-house credit cards.Offering high risk and offshore merchant account with credit card processing services. At Target, customers get 5 percent off all purchases made with their debit cards. The EZ Breathe home Ventilation system is maintenance free, Nordstrom debit card holders earn two rewards points for every dollar spent; shoppers receive a $20 store voucher that’s good for one year after they accumulate 2,000 points.

To apply, customers fill out a form and supply a voided check or routing number for a designated checking account.

But store debit cards don’t tap directly into checking accounts in the same way as traditional debit cards. Instead, the cards simply trigger the type of transactions that are used for online or recurring payments, such as mortgage or utility bills. You can find best china precision Precision injection molds manufacturers from here!

These transactions take longer to clear, meaning purchases aren’t reflected in accounts right away; Nordstrom and Target both say transactions should appear within about two or three days.

Target declined to comment on how applications for its debit cards have been stacking up in comparison to its store credit cards. But Nordstrom spokesman Colin Johnson said there’s been an uptick in demand for the company’s debit card in recent months, even though the card has been available since 2005. Without providing details, he said a significant portion of new card applications are for debit cards rather than credit cards.

“Customers like having the flexibility and option to take part in the rewards program without taking on another credit card,A mold or molds is a hollowed-out block that is filled with a liquid like plastic,” Johnson said.

The shift underscores the growing popularity of debit cards in the marketplace. In 2009, consumers charged more to their debit cards than to their credit cards for the first time, according to Visa. The growth of debit card use reflects a movement away from cash and checks. But in an uncertain economy, consumers also see debit cards as a way to manage money and keep debt under control.

The preference for debit has since grown more pronounced; Visa says customers charged $1.We are passionate about polished tiles.137 trillion to their debit cards in the 12 months ending Sept. 30, compared with $867 billion on credit cards. And retailers have reason to prefer debit as well.

A regulation that went into effect in October caps the fees merchants pay banks when customers use their debit cards. Such fees are still unregulated for credit cards, however, meaning retailers pay less when customers use debit cards.

At the same time, many retailers have clamped down on issuing store credit cards after defaults spiked in the downturn. Those shifting factors may eventually prompt additional retailers to offer their own debit cards as an alternative, says Cohen of NPD Group.

“It’s a new twist on the retail credit card,” said Nessa Feddis of the American Bankers Association. “If retailers are able to promote more sales and find more loyal customers from it, you could see it pick up.”

But Feddis noted that growth of retail debit cards will hinge on shoppers’ appetite for adding yet another piece of plastic to their wallets.

And as prudent as a store debit card seems compared with a store credit card, there is a potential downside. Because the transactions on store debit cards take some time to process, there’s an increased risk of shoppers mistakenly overdrawing their accounts.

Customers may not be able to opt out of overdraft programs for such charges either. Banks are required to obtain the consent of customers before enrolling them in overdraft programs for traditional debit transactions. But the rule doesn’t apply to the type of delayed transactions that store debit cards rely on. Overdraft fees at banks are typically around $35.

In addition, Target’s debit card has a return payment fee that ranges from $20 to $40 depending on the state. At Nordstrom, the return payment fee is $25.

As for loss or theft, store debit cards have the same protections as traditional debit cards since they are still accessing customer accounts, Feddis notes. By law, any card that’s used to access a checking account caps liability at $50 as long as the card issuer is notified within two days, or $500 within 60 days.

Iran could be bluffing in the strait of Hormuz

Tehran's vow to stop US warships crossing international waters in the strait of Hormuz, following 10 days of provocative Iranian missile tests and naval exercises, is seen in Washington as evidence that ramped-up western sanctions are finally beginning to bite.

While this conclusion may be correct, there is always the danger of a disastrous miscalculation. The EZ Breathe home Ventilation system is maintenance free, Iran could be merely sabre rattling, as American analysts suggest. But what if it is not?

Seen from Tehran, the most serious threat to the survival of the regime led by supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei comes from within, not without – a consideration not sufficiently understood in the west. The political establishment is riven by deep divisions, principally between economic reformers loyal to President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, and clerical arch-conservatives backed by the Revolutionary Guards and a wealthy, corrupt merchant class that has grown fat on the 1979 revolution.

Khamenei appears to be trying to hold the line between the two factions. What worries him more than the movements of the USS John C Stennis aircraft carrier group in the Gulf, or even US and EU oil sanctions, is the thought that crucial parliamentary elections due in March could produce a permanent rupture within the Islamic Republic. Such a split could open the way to a second Iranian revolution.

Memories of the mass demonstrations that shook Tehran and other cities in 2009 after rigged presidential elections have not faded. The Green movement's leaders are dispersed, in jail or under house arrest. But their demands for transparent democracy, freedom of expression and an end to misrule by mullahs have not been forgotten. Millions of young Iranians have been watching the Arab spring unfold and they believe Iran's turn will come.

Khamenei is running scared. As Yasmin Alem noted in a recent commentary, the supreme leader views the coming election as a potential "security challenge". The minister of intelligence,Offering high risk and offshore merchant account with credit card processing services. Heydar Moslehi, says the polls will be the "most sensitive elections in the history of the Islamic Republic".

Alem continued: "The regime is now in a quandary. While it has traditionally boasted about high voter participation as the symbol of its legitimacy, Tehran is increasingly concerned that an election boycott or turmoil could adversely affect its standing. In the wake of the Arab uprisings the clerical regime is seeking to project an image of its power and popularity. If the election becomes a dismal affair, however, it will have the reverse effect."

There can be little doubt that new US sanctions penalising dealings with Iran's central bank, announced by Barack Obama last month,A mold or molds is a hollowed-out block that is filled with a liquid like plastic, and a prospective EU ban on Iranian oil, are adding to the internal pressures – even if habitual Iranian customers such as Japan and Turkey succeed in obtaining waivers.

Food prices are soaring, dollars are being hoarded, and Iran's currency, the rial, has fallen in value by 40% in recent weeks. The prospect of sharp falls in oil export earnings – the oil industry accounts for 60% of Iran's economy – is a dire one. Khamenei and other leaders have indicated that such an outcome would amount to a casus belli. You can find best china precision Precision injection molds manufacturers from here!

And this is the point that should worry the west's sanctioneers, fixated by Iran's nuclear programme to the exclusion of other considerations. At the moment the regime's deep internal contradictions could be leading towards a revolutionary climax, the US and its allies are giving Khamenei a possible way out by allowing him to externalise the problem and claim that the Iranian nation is under attack from hostile foreign forces,We are passionate about polished tiles. rather than definitively changing from within.

This is the overlooked domestic backdrop to the strait of Hormuz shenanigans and other provocations, such as the alleged plot against the Saudi ambassador in Washington. Iran, for all its aggressive rhetoric over the past few years, has studiously avoided military confrontation. In fact, it has studiously eschewed an open conflict that it would probably lose, relying instead on time-consuming diplomacy and occasional publicity stunts. But with the regime's back to the wall at home, that may be changing.

"The latest warning by Iran that a US aircraft carrier that recently transited through the strait of Hormuz should not do so again is a sign to the west that should be well-observed. It tells us the regime in Tehran is ready for a fight," warned Vali Nasr of Tufts University. "It wasn't preordained that Iran would opt for battle. For much of the past year its leaders have debated how best to deal with Western pressure … [but] subsequent events seem to have settled the policy debate in Tehran. They included the accusations by the US in the Washington plot; a UN report critical of Iran's record on human rights; the IAEA report articulating 'serious concerns' about a possible Iranian nuclear-weapons programme; and the ensuing fresh sanctions."

In other words, confident statements by the White House and state department that Iran is buckling under sanctions pressure appear to blithely ignore the possibility that the regime is being pushed into a corner from which it will come out punching, not negotiating. One result may be an acceleration of its nuclear activities – the opposite of what Obama wants. And then there is the unpredictable Gulf tinderbox. Fearing fatal insurrection at home and with their oil exports blocked, Khamenei and the mullahs, egged on by trigger-happy Revolutionary Guards, may choose to export chaos instead.

Pinal Sheriff Babeu to run for Congress

Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu officially announced his intent to run for Congress early Wednesday morning.

Babeu intends to run for the U.S. House of Representatives seat in the newly-created District 4 - a sprawling, mostly-rural district that would include the portion of Pinal County that houses most of Apache Junction, Gold Canyon and San Tan Valley, according to the new congressional maps generated last month by the Arizona Independent Redistricting Commission.

District 4 would also include some of the more rural portions of Maricopa County to the north and west of the greater Phoenix area,The reason why most kidney stone form is not known. along with all of Gila and La Paz counties, the vast majority of Yavapai and Mohave counties,Thank you for visiting our newly improved DIY chicken coop website! and a large chunk of Yuma county - spanning all the way to the Arizona-California border.

Babeu said he plans to make illegal immigration, high unemployment and the federal deficit the focus of his candidacy.

"As a first responder, I'm trained to run toward dangers that others run away from. Right now, the biggest threats facing our country are from Washington,What are Hemroids?" Babeu said in released statement. As a professional manufacturer of China ceramic tile, "We have record debt and deficit spending, the biggest intergenerational theft in the history of the world. We have a system that punishes job creators and leaves many millions unemployed. We have an unsecured border that allows the drug cartels to operate freely in our country, and results in 400,000 illegal crossings into our state every year.

"How have our leaders responded to these threats? This Congress approved the largest debt ceiling increase in American history. The administration transferred 2,000 high-powered weapons to the most dangerous criminals in North America, punishing whistleblowers and rewarding those responsible for ‘Fast and Furious.' Then they sued Arizona for doing the job they won't do. While Americans watch their savings disappear, we have credible allegations of insider trading by members of Congress."

Babeu, who announced the forming of an exploratory committee to run for the office in October, was elected in 2008 as Pinal County's first Republican sheriff. His ties to the party have not wavered since. He's been a fixture at tea party- and Republican-based events throughout the county and state and on the national TV circuit, appearing periodically on cable news outlets to discuss the rampant illegal immigration and smuggling corridor he says exists in Pinal County.

Here's how that 40 per cent – Bentley's target declared a couple of years ago – has been reached. The biggest chunk comes from downsizing: the W12 has a 6.0-litre capacity, the V8, as reflects its lower cylinder-count, is a 4.0-litre engine . Next comes a ZF eight-speed automatic in place of the six-speed: six per cent. The V8 runs as a V4 under light load, with one bank's outer cylinders and the other's inners deactivated: five per cent.

Now we're into details. Using power-steering energy only when needed, with an electro-hydraulic pump: three per cent. Same saving for some clever recalibration of the engine's electronic control unit. A small (25kg) reduction in weight and aerodynamic drag yields 2.5 per cent. Thermal management, including heating the gearbox oil from the engine's water circuit after a cold start: two per cent. Energy recuperation by electrically connecting the alternator only when slowing brings 1.5 per cent.Choose from our large selection of Cable Ties, Finally, low rolling-resistance tyres yield one per cent.

You'll notice there's no stop-start system, eschewed because drivers find it too annoying and the likely saving was deemed not worth the pain. Nevertheless, this is the closest we've ever got to a frugal Bentley, with provisional stats of 24mpg ('Combined') and 275g/km CO2.

From the outside, you can tell a Continental V8 from a W12 by its black front grille mesh and its more aggressive front valance. Inside, it's fractionally less lavish with, for example, cloth instead of leather for the headlining and a single lid for the central storage box instead of split halves. Rubber mats and vinyl seats, too (only joking). Here is where some of the 10 per cent price reduction over the W12 is achieved, given that the engine and gearbox combination is little cheaper to make than the W12's. Pricing starts around 122,000, sales start in February.

Should the shortfall spoil your sybaritic expectations, the ample options list can be your saviour after which the notional price reduction will have largely evaporated. Will you then feel short-changed? The briefest of drives in a Continental V8 will dispel that notion, and a longer one will astound you.

That fiercer front signals the V8's more sporting intent, with revised suspension and steering settings designed for a keener-feeling drive and making the most of that modest weight loss over the front wheels. As soon as you start the engine, you sense that was a very good move. There's a deep-bass exhaust note, powerful and menacing, increasingly overlaid by a staccato crackle as the revs rise towards the 6000rpm, 500bhp power peak.

Here is Bentley as a maker of a proper, Ferrari- and Aston-rivalling, hard-edged pleasure machine. Maybe it does take 0.3sec longer to reach 62mph than the W12 does, but at 4.Search and purchase original Projector Lamp and bulbs at discounted prices.9sec who, again, is complaining? The way it rockets is far more pleasurable, helped by undetectable turbo lag, swift and definite gearshifts which are still perfectly smooth, and that fabulous soundtrack. In expected Bentley fashion there's huge urge available from very low engine speeds, which continues in a torrent as the musical explosion escalates. Peak torque of 487lb ft arrives at 1700rpm and stays there right up to 5000.

Just as good – maybe even better, actually – is the way the Continental attacks bends. This is a 'fast lorry' no more. On the contrary, it is the lightest-footed, most agile, most interactive Bentley road car there has ever been, and that includes the previous-generation Supersports. This GT feels like a car two-thirds the weight, keen and responsive and easy to place to the nearest inch. Yet on the bumpy, undulating roads around Silverstone it proved supple and resolutely composed, its adaptive dampers best left towards the comfort end of the scale.Offers Art Reproductions Fine Art oil painting reproduction,

Hepatitis C vaccine hope after cold virus tests

Trials showed it tackled the disease, which causes flu-like effects before badly damaging the liver, in a similar way to people who are naturally immune. The vaccine lasted a year and none of the 41 people studied had side effects.

The findings suggest it may be possible to develop a vaccine although it may take several more years to prove it is safe.

Professor Paul Klenerman, from the Nuffield Department of Clinical Medicine at Oxford University, a leading member of the research team, said: “We’ve found that it’s possible to prime large cellular immune responses against hepatitis C that last for at least a year.Buy low price Aion Kinah,

“The immune responses we’ve seen are exciting and we are beginning the next stage of trials. While we are hopeful, it could be a long road to any vaccine that protects people against hepatitis C.”

Hepatitis C is caused by a virus that can remain hidden in the bloodstream for decades before showing any symptoms. It produces mild flu-like effects while inflicting slow damage to the liver which can lead to cirrhosis and cancer.

An estimated 200,Facts and Cures. Cures for all types of Hemorrhoids.000 to 500,000 people are infected with hepatitis C in England and Wales. Because of the lack of symptoms, many do not know of their condition. As a leading company in the plastic card printing industry,

The virus is carried in the blood and to a lesser extent other bodily fluids. It is most commonly transmitted by sharing needles to inject drugs, but can also be passed on via toothbrushes, razors, scissors, tattoos and body piercing. There is a low risk of the virus passing from mother to child or between sexual partners.

Like HIV,What causes TMJ pain? hepatitis C presents a difficult moving target to anyone attempting to challenge it with a vaccine. The virus can easily adopt new disguises that may not be recognised by the immune system. It also comes in six possible strains, each presenting a different vaccine target.

The new trial results are published in the journal Science Translational Medicine. A group of 41 healthy adults took part in the Phase One trial,
primarily designed to test safety and obtain dosing information.

The vaccine is designed to provoke a response from immune cells called T-cells that target the inside of the virus rather than its outer coat.

It was created from a modified adenovirus, a member of a family of viruses responsible for the common cold and sore throat infections. Two kinds of adenovirus were tested as vaccine candidates, a rare human version and one found in chimpanzees.

The vaccine triggered a large T-cell response that lasted for at least a year, the length of the trial. No significant adverse effects were reported among the volunteers.

The immune response was of a similar type and size as that reported in people who naturally clear the hepatitis C virus from their bodies, said the scientists. Around one in five people are naturally immune to hepatitis C infection. As a professional manufacturer of China ceramic tile,

Not only did the T-cells react to a wide range of different elements within the virus, but they seemed to respond to more than one strain.

Dolls putting out less straw for bedding for bulls in nice weather

A bright sun was peeking out last week on a cool morning with temps in the 20s but no snow on the ground as the Dolls put out bedding for their bulls.

Charles, David and Harlan Doll, who operate Doll Charolais and Simmental Ranch, lay out bedding for the bulls every three days, but it is nothing like last year at this time.

David said they’ve only used 10-15 percent of the bedding they had used at this time a year ago when 20-30 inches of snow had already fallen in the region, making cattle chores difficult.

There’s been only a dusting of snow so far this year, and producers are looking forward to a clear forecast for the next 10 days.

Bedding is a project that used to take two men and last an hour and a half.

“Now I can do it myself in 10 minutes,” said Harlan.

Harlan drove the bale processor which the Dolls purchased last year, and picked up a bale of straw and then distributed it evenly across the feed yard.

The bulls came running to the fresh bedding, laying soft, thick and even. They enjoyed nuzzling in it – and so did the farm dogs.

David said they bale both straw for bedding and hay for feed in the summer and store it for future use.

The North Dakota Simmental Association’s state sale, which the Dolls had bred heifers in, was a success last weekend at Farmer’s Livestock Exchange in Bismarck.

Charles said producers from states as far away as Nebraska and Wisconsin consigned bred heifers in the sale.

David added it was a “really good sale” with the average sales price being $3,400 on the bred heifers, and $2,900 on the open heifers.

During the sale, some of the Doll kids, Hailie, Krysten, Katie and Jacie, stood in the ring with the heifer donated by Joseph and Helen Doll, longtime members of the North Dakota Simmental Association.

“They were really proud of being able to donate a heifer to an association that they have been members of for many years,” David said.

The week before, the Dolls trailed the last of their cows home, then sorted and worked the cows the same day with a  Scour Guard injection, and another dose of Ivomec.

The cows were out grazing stalks and grass in two groups across the road from farm headquarters. They have a nice open creek running through the fields bringing them fresh water daily.

“The creek hasn’t iced up at all,” David said.

A few shiny-coated cows were in a separate pen and eating a higher ration. Harlan said these were the cows they flushed for embryos, and they are fed extra mineral. They had 20 embryos flushed out of two cows and 10 out of another.

He added they decide which cows should be flushed based on if they are consistently having a nice calf year and have good mothering EPDs such as milking, good birth, weaning and yearling weights and they also check the carcass data, too.

The Dolls also went through their bulls a final time, making cuts, and castrating the cuts as steers.

They finished weighing the bulls in their sale and the heifers they are retaining. Charles likes to wait until he has the final 365 day weight to add to the other information, before he registers the animals. That way the data is complete.

“The bulls are averaging 3.8 pounds a day. They are gaining really well,” Charles said.

Meanwhile, their trainee from Brazil, Durval Neto, left to return home after nine months with the Dolls. It is an exchange program through the government that the Dolls have participated in before.

They had a cattle buyer from Minnesota come out looking for quality calves, and the Dolls took him around to some of their customers. Some weren’t ready to sell until after the first of the year, so he may come back then.

The brothers have been holding on to their grain and hoping the wheat market has a sustained rally soon. Harlan said it  has been up some for six days in a row, but David said it seems to go up in a lot slower increments than it comes down.

Harlan added he is starting to look at rotations for next spring, and seed. He sent a sample of wheat in to get the germination level and see if it is high quality enough to use next spring. They will probably plant the same crops next year: wheat, barley, flax, corn and sunflowers.

The Dolls are also doing some end-of-the-year paperwork, and went over some numbers with their tax accountant.

David added, “After the first of the year, we will also start marketing our feeder calves.”

Harlan said they have had some people come out to the ranch and look at the bulls that will be in their March production sale.

“It is nice for us, too, because we like to visit with them one-on-one, and can spend more time that way,” he said.

David agreed. “We enjoy visiting with them and spending the time with them. On sale day, it get pretty hectic, and you don’t always get to visit as long as you’d like,” he said.

Charles added they will have about 80 Charolais and 50 Simmental bulls in their March sale.

They are beginning to send out some photos and advertisements to different magazines for the upcoming sale.

Israel, Iran Eye Baku

Religious, cultural,Hand-painted Chinese porcelain tiles on the floor of a Jewish synagogue in Cochin, and historical links notwithstanding, the Republic of Azerbaijan has had a difficult relationship with neighboring Iran ever since its independence in 1991. But tensions have reached new heights in the last couple of year years.

This was no clearer than it was on August 9 this year, when Gen. Hassan Firouzabadi,The EZ Breathe home Ventilation system is maintenance free,Why does Plastic moulds grow in homes or buildings? chief of Iran’s armed forces’ Joint Staff Command, warned Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev that he would face “a dark fate” should he continue to expand ties with Israel.

The statement prompted the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry to deliver an official protest to the Iranian Embassy in Baku, as well as to arrest three members of the banned Islamic Party of Azerbaijan, which Baku claims is funded by Tehran. Last month, meanwhile, Baku accused Iran of being behind the stabbing of Azeri writer and journalist Rafiq Tagi. And last week, the director of the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting office in the Azeri capital, Ahmad Kazemi, was denied entry into Baku, and was forced to leave Azerbaijan the same day.

Tehran has for its part accused Baku of fomenting divisions within its large Azeri population, which is estimated to number between 20 to 25 million, with the majority residing in northwestern Iran. On August 13, Tabnak, an Iranian news website, revealed what it called an “Azerbaijani plot” to foster ethnic conflict in Iran’s northwestern provinces, including the dissemination of anti-Iranian programs by Azerbaijani TV and radio stations. Equally alarming for the authorities in Iran is the decision by the Aliyev government to include several Iranian provinces, including Ardabil, Qazvin and Hamedan,Monz Werkzeugbau und Formenbau. as parts of a “Greater Azerbaijan Republic” in school textbooks.

Compounding Iranian fears is Israel’s key role in Azerbaijan’s energy and defense sectors. Iran is deeply concerned over growing Israeli and Western investments in the Azerbaijani energy sector, seeing such developments as a major threat to its own economic interests. Unable to compete with and/or attract Israeli and Western technology and capital for tapping abundant Caspian natural resources, Iran has resorted to a policy of intimidation in order to discourage foreign investment in the Azerbaijan offshore sector. Tehran’s efforts in this are greatly enhanced by the fact that maritime disputes between the five littoral states of the Caspian Sea remain unresolved, allowing Iranian gunboats to make several incursions into what the Azerbaijani government considers as its territorial waters.

This comes at a time when Tehran is nervously watching the expanding military and intelligence cooperation in the region. Surrounded by U.S. troops in the south, east, and west, Iranian officials tend to perceive the deepening military ties between Jerusalem and Baku as the latest element in a Western plan to completely encircle Tehran. Ultimately, Iran views Israel’s effort to develop a military industrial complex in Azerbaijan as a long-term plan to open up a new front for a possible military attack on Iran's nuclear facilities should the need arise.

The problem for Baku is that, strategically speaking, it’s impossible for Azerbaijan to forgo its ties with one of these countries in favor of the other. The recent Turkish-Armenian rapprochement, as well as the Azeri elites’ concern over the perceived “Islamization” push by Ankara, are of particular concern for Baku, and it’s these two developments more than anything that have added extra value to Azeri-Israeli relations. This was underscored in a January 2009 diplomatic cable from the U.S. Embassy in Azerbaijan, which said that President Aliyev was uncomfortable with the pro-Islamic and pro-Palestinian stance of Turkish Prime Minster Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s government.

But Iran is no ordinary country for Azerbaijani strategists. The two states share a 600 kilometer land border, while an estimated 85 percent of Azerbaijan’s population is Shiite. These two realities allow Iran the potential to cause real trouble for authorities in Azerbaijan and provide it considerable opportunities to destabilize the country. Certainly, there have been reports that Iran has an active religious network operating in Azerbaijan that it could utilize to undermine the Aliyev government.

Azerbaijan is fully aware of Tehran’s capacity for mischief making and so has refrained from crossing Tehran’s “red lines,” including by deciding against opening an embassy in Jerusalem. But this is unlikely to be enough to prevent ties between the two countries entering a period of even more heightened tension, not least because the Tehran-Tel Aviv rivalry for influence over Azerbaijan is intensifying by the day.

Iran and Israel have been playing a cat-and-mouse game in Azerbaijan for more than a decade, one that utilizes the businesses, diplomats, citizens and spies both countries have in Azerbaijan. You can find best china Precision injection molds manufacturers from here! With growing regional uncertainty, there’s now an extra incentive for both Tehran and Jerusalem to continue building on their already well-established networks in Baku. How the Aliyev government – stuck in the middle – will respond, remains to be seen.
