Over the last few years some prophetic ministries in Zimbabwe have
embarked on questionable activities. Some websites have mushroomed
claiming some special powers that could even make Jesus want to put on
his sandals and want to meet these men for advice and strategy. Some
websites have been left short of stating that they raise the dead. Just
like people make money out of politics, it would appear prophetic
ministries can also make you rich if you know your audience and their
problems. Just like politicians, prophets now move around with chariots
of prestige like Mercedes Benz, Range Rover and BMW. While it is great
to be rich and famous, there should be some ethical considerations in
some of these public works. Politicians can get off the hook because
they are licensed to break all 10 commandments and even take your wife
and children but prophets cannot sink that low because they purport to
have a special relationship with the Lord. These men of cloth should
learn service and be humble and honest in their dealings with the
public.
So many miracles today cause anyone jaws to drop. We
have heard of money being made and account balances being multiplied to
the extent of causing some legislators to take an aside to weigh on how
these ministries can help the national debt to trickle down. Some
miracles have made babies being born at the call by the prophets in the
presence of the congregants. The easy-to-fool followers have momentarily
shifted their faith from the good Lord and placed it on these earthly
men and women using his name to make a name. Some have had their
pregnancy bellies touched by the men with holy powers triggering
inducement waters to break and facilitate delivery. Some with HIV and
Cancer have allegedly been healed but no proof has been medically
furnished. So many miracles are said to be happening around Zimbabwe and
abroad. It could be the season of prophecy.
Away from home some
have made predictions about big events to come. Some leaders have been
predicted to die or to get sick or to win elections as major disasters
have been promised. In some cases prophesies have predicted major
windfall shipment of treasures and wealth for the people. In some, peace
has been promised too.We have a wide selection of handsfreeaccess to choose from for your storage needs.
So
much has been said and so much continues to be covered. In some cases,
the obvious has been stated. Obviously a pregnant woman must deliver.
Weather forecast can predict so many things based on climate. Geriatric
presidents die and rest. In elections one loses and the other wins.
There will always be tribal wars in Africa and drought can come
depending with the weather and climate. Two soccer teams playing
obviously lead one to win while the other absorbs defeat. Such
prediction of the obvious has made others heroes among nations.
While
some prophets carry real powers to predict the future, some have gone
commercial and are victims of undue appetite for fame. The disturbing
problem with the current wave of prophesies has been the hunger for
publicity. Jesus never demanded publicity. He was a humble man who
served the people without any appetite for publicity. Now so many
prophetic ministries have press secretaries that actually issue
installment-like messages either to defend their causes, predict what is
to come or publicize what they have actually said and that has come to
pass. No one really knows what is happening right now. Whether these are
the marks of the end of times as revealed in the Book of Revelations no
one knows because the search for publicity and the engagement of the
media has raised lots of eye brows. Instead of working quietly and
serving the Lord and His people, many are now like the departed Minister
Enos Chikowore, who never used to open his mouth until TV crews got to
the scene. He is historically renowned for his humungous appetite for
media coverage. The same bug has attacked the modern prophet. No TV
camera, no service.
The crippled have walked and the blind have
seen. Surprisingly, none of these prophets has been courageous enough to
go to Bondolfi Mission or Mutemwa leprosy center to actually line up
the blind and the lepers and cause them to be healed. This is all
concerning populism and the idea of seed money has actually turned some
of these prophets into marauding hustlers who have used the shield of
God to politely rob the poor of the little they have.
In 2012,
in Harare, one prophets jacket was auctioned for thousands of dollars
and was taken in the blink of an eye. Hearing that, I had a dozen
questions about the auction event. I imagined Jesus Christ of Nazareth
making money out of miracles performed to save the sick and the
disabled.About buymosaic in
China userd for paying transportation fares and for shopping. Imagine
if he had charged $10 a meal when he fed the five thousand people! Where
is the finesse with the current prophets? What happened to religious
ethics and acts of service and humility? Why sink that low to make money
out of desperate souls and why seek publicity? Why equate oneself to
Jesus as making ones clothes carry holy powers to heal or to get someone
miraculous power to cause a politician to win elections?
While
religion should be humbling to any man, some have used that platform to
seek self-glory and heroism. They have sought to attach their names to
major works and seek immediate recognition.Elpas Readers detect and

These prophets and have challenged desperate people in need of help to
part with material goods in exchange for services.
It is
pointless to put a price tag on Gods work. It is also cheap to be
addicted to media coverage when doing Gods work. In any case ones great
works should speak for themselves. The proof is in the works. Prophets
should abstain from cheap populism and hunger for media coverage. The
engagement of PR officers, publicists and advertising agents has simply
compromised the Holy works of God. Whether these works are true, it
remains to be proven. When describing the location of the problematic howotipper. In a nutshell, Zimbabwe, beware of questionable prophets and their works. We have a wide selection of handsfreeaccess to
