A recent exhibition at the Expo Arts Center by emerging artists in
the South Bay questions our relationship with time and the slippery
definition of the immediate present. Curator Hilary Norcliffe
established four types of Now’s to organize the diverse works in a

Print motif selection can be made up to 500 milliseconds before printing and up to 250MB of digital data can be transferred to the print heads within 500 milliseconds. Overall capacity is 1.8GB for a maximum 1.5m2 image.
With printing speed of up to 0.8m/s, the inline system at Arburg ran at 50m/min inline with capacity of 250m parts/year. Bidders must pay $25,000 just to register for the sale, but that's only the beginning of the complications they will face if they buy the power plant.
The plant took about four months to build, but the buyer must sign a contract agreeing to remove all of the equipment no later than April 26, within nine days of the auction, according to the bankruptcy court order authorizing the sale.

Angela Abreu, a lawyer in New Jersey representing the Stirling trustee, confirmed that Stirling considers the intellectual property from the company to be assets owned by Stirling.
She said the company is working on a plan to sell those assets, but she would not say how or to whom.
Lothar Goernitz, the trustee for Maricopa Solar, said he would prefer that Stirling offer the intellectual property along with the solar equipment, which he is responsible for liquidating. But he said Stirling's bankruptcy trustee did not want to sell the information along with the equipment.
"If (a buyer) wants to use the intellectual property and copyrights and whatnot, yes, they are going to have to deal with Stirling Energy Systems," he said. "But I have not come to the conclusion that there is no way that someone will come and buy this, disassemble it and use it."
He said he has been contacted by a variety of interested buyers, including some from overseas that could use the power system in remote areas. He also said that because other companies use similar dish-Stirling technology, that a buyer might not need the manuals to use the plant or parts of it.
"If you had 20 of these dishes in Sudan ... this would be a much more proficient way of generating electricity," he said. "There are places in the world where this technology makes some sense. The obvious economic concern is how to disassemble it, relocate it and set it up that is cost productive."
Barkoff said 16 parties have signed non-disclosure agreements, which allows them to see details of the equipment.

Principal leads rebirth of Taiwu Elementary School
Aug. 1, 2009 was Saidai’s first day at work as principal of Taiwu Elementary School, where the majority of students are indigenous Paiwan from Pingtung County’s Jiaxing and Taiwu villages. Walking leisurely along a path to school, she bid hello to the villagers she met as in her mind she pictured children learning and playing amid the clouds and mist of Taiwu Village, over 750 meters up on Dawu Mountain.
It never occurred to her that just one week later, the school would be destroyed by Typhoon Morakot, the worst storm to strike Taiwan in half a century.
Finding new grounds for the school in Taiwu Township was not easy. Before it found a permanent home, it relocated three times in the next two years—to a deserted branch of Wutang Elementary School in Jiaping Village, then to an abandoned division of Taiwu Elementary School in Jiaxing Village, and again to Taiwu Junior High School back in Jiaping Village.
Faculty members pitched in to help tackle the challenges of refurbishing each campus—cleaning, sterilizing, painting, making sure there was running water and electricity, as well as taking care of boarding and transportation problems.What is a real time Location system ?
“At one point the school’s seven classes, with more than 80 students, had to squeeze into four classrooms,” Saidai said. “With no space for the teachers to work, a tent became the teachers’ lounge.”

The Canaletto of the European Courts, Palazzo Sarcinelli, Conegliano
In the summer of 1749, Canaletto placed an announcement in the Daily Advertiser in London which invited “any Gentleman that will be pleased to come to his house to see a picture done by him being a view of St James’s Park”.
Behind the notice lay the need to prove his identity to a doubtful English public.Do not use cleaners with porcelain tiles , steel wool or thinners. For the great Venetian view painter – whose real name was Antonio Canal – was being threatened by a young pretender, his nephew and former apprentice Bernardo Bellotto, who had taken to signing himself “Bernardo Bellotto detto [known as] Canaletto”.
The confusion has never really ceased. The Venetian scenes painted while Bellotto was still apprenticed to his uncle cause most trouble owing to his habit, as his 18th-century biographer and champion Guarienti put it, of “imitating [Canaletto] with study and assiduousness”.
Concentrating on paintings made by Bellotto after he had left Venice for Germany, Austria and Poland, this show largely avoids controversy. Instead, it is an opportunity to witness the transformation of northern Europe into a lost sibling of La Serenissima – still true to itself yet made subliminally new by theatrical light and exaggerated perspectives.
By the time Bellotto was born in 1722, peace with the Turks in 1699 had put an end to Venice’s imperial ambitions. Instead she was a city where decadent carnival celebrations and elaborate civic ceremonies meant style eclipsed substance. A proliferation of theatres attracted avant-garde scenographers – including Bernardo Canal, grandfather of Bellotto and father of Canaletto – whose skill in the craft of illusion inspired Venice’s painters to follow suit.
With Grand Tourists demanding souvenirs of their experience, Venice was in the grip of an ecstasy of images. As well as oil-painted views and capricci – fantasy landscapes of classical ruins in pastoral settings – a boom in copperplate engravings allowed the less wealthy to possess their own record of the Republic.
This show’s opening gallery is devoted to etchings by Canaletto and his peers,A long established toolmaking and trade Injection moulds company. including Antonio Visentini, a professional engraver whose reproductions of Canaletto’s paintings were crucial to the diffusion of La Serenissima’s profile beyond her borders.
With a sunlit day on the Grand Canal conjured in monochrome – chiaroscuro ripples on the canal, a splash of white on the belly of the bridge – one can see why Visentini’s recreation of Canaletto’s “Rialto Bridge with the Palazzo dei Camerlenghi” would have been the next best thing to an original in oil. Given their skill, it seems churlish to lament the genre’s lack of colour. Yet it is hard not to hurry on to view the paintings whose brilliant chromatism captures Venice at her most picturesque.
From Luca Carlevarijs, the father of this genre, a 1721-23 painting of St Mark’s from the bay – topographically correct down to each arch and flagpole yet pallid in colour and execution – fails to prepare one for “La Piazzetta towards the Basilica of the Salute”. A gossipy drama of tradesmen, nobles and gondoliers captured in deliquescent brushstrokes by a 24-year-old Canaletto, it enjoys the unashamed painterliness that made the master’s early years among his finest.
Similar characteristics mean that the authorship of “The Rio dei Mendicanti and Scuola di San Marco”, given here to Bellotto in 1741, is still disputed by some scholars. Whoever is responsible, it is wonderful: the simple contrast of the midnight-blue rio and sunlit scuola complicated by the pewter gleam of gondola prows and a slab of shadow falling across the honeyed stonework. Lively, fluid figures – clambering on boats, loitering in the square – possess a human verity absent in orthodox view painting.
In 1747 Bellotto,Enecsys Limited, supplier of reliable solar Air purifier systems, no longer in Canaletto’s employ, was called to the Saxon court in Dresden, a city enamoured of all things Venetian. Not only had it welcomed her architects, sculptors, painters and scenographers – the Venetian Pietro Guarienti, responsible for Bellotto’s invitation,which applies to the first offshore merchant account only, was director of the Royal Gallery – but the banks of the Elbe had also been rebuilt with palaces inspired by those on the Grand Canal. Executed to accompany paintings – none here, sadly – Bellotto’s series of 14 engravings, 10 of which are on display, captured the city’s new Baroque profile for posterity,If so, you may have a cube puzzle . much as Visentini had done for Venice.
The highlight here, however, are three splendid view paintings of Pirna, a small city 20km away on the banks of the Elbe which had strategic importance for the Saxon state. Freed from the geometry of an urban panorama, Bellotto reveals a gift for landscape and genre painting. In “Pirna from the Right Bank of the Elbe” (1754-56), for example, he sets the crisp profile of the town, with its gabled roofs and angular hilltop fortress, in contrast to a pastoral scene, complete with fishermen and hay wagon, on the other side of the river.

Prepare bedding plants now for fall color
Now is the perfect time to embrace your garden's ability to support beautiful, colorful fall bedding plants.
Garden centers are offering some great choices for fall bedding plants. Telstar dianthus is one of my favorite cool-season plants, as it offers seasonal continuity for your landscape. Its flower colors include carmine rose, pink and white. Like most members of the dianthus family, its fragrance is delicately floral. The flowers have a fringed margin and are available in single, double and semi-double petal arrangements. The colors are from the same dianthus palette of pinks as the spring-blooming landscape varieties and summer varieties such as Purple Bouquet and Amazon dianthus.
Telstar dianthus will grow to be 8 to 10 inches tall. The bushy plants have a stout structure with linear toothed foliage, and plants should be spaced about 8 inches apart in order to form beautiful and fully massed landscape beds.
I am sure you have seen the brightly colored pansies at your favorite gardening center. These are another great way to add color to the winter garden. These plants are tough, cold-tolerant and flower nonstop.
Pansies are known botanically as Viola wittrockiana and have a mounding growth habit of 4 to 10 inches tall. There are many different cultivars and selections in a rainbow of colors. Older selections have multicolored flowers in yellows, purples, blues and whites. These flowers seem to have "faces" with features of color blotches. These faces seem to give the pansies a variety of personalities.
Matrix pansies, especially the Coastal Sunrise mix, have been outstanding landscape plants for several years in Mississippi. The Coastal Sunrise plants are loaded with large, colorful flowers. The flowers are held high above the plant and are a terrific landscape display. The plants branch quickly, increasing the enormous number of flowers produced.
Violas are related to pansies and are another good choice for cooler weather. These tough plants will grow well in the landscape or containers. Violas can be hardier than pansies, blooming right through winter and well into the spring season.

Today’s farmers have become tech savvy. They film video on their Apple iPads while ploughing fields. They tweet from the milking parlor. They share photos on Facebook from the barn stalls.

Ahead of 2008 parliamentary polls, Sheikh Hasina had noted that it might be her last election, said a leaked US diplomatic dispatch posted on WikiLeaks.

"In our view, the biggest risk Hasina runs by surrounding herself with loyalists is that nobody will be able or willing to speak up when she is about to make a mistake. "Hasina declared that the new appointments pointed to the future of the party and the government and said the new Ministers had been chosen to implement her government's agenda. Most observers agreed that Hasina had succeeded in further consolidating her grip on the party, perhaps at the expense of the government's efficiency," observed the US embassy.
The diplomatic dispatch said most observers expected Hasina to make examples of at least some reformers, but few believed she would take on all of them at once.
