Aussies burnt by dodgy solar panel plan

Twenty per cent of solar units have been incorrectly installed, figures on the safety of the installations under the Small Energy Unit program reveal.

Four per cent were unsafe, forcing them to be shut down.

As at September 23 this year, there had been 387 inspections of small generation units installed by private contractors.

But with almost 400,000 of these units installed, the opposition has claimed potentially thousands of units that pose a safety risk are still being operated by households.

The Office of the Renewable Energy Regulator figures suggest up to 80,000 solar rooftop devices may have been fitted to a sub-standard or defective level.

And up to 16,000 of those could be regarded as unsafe and pose a potential hazard.Do not use cleaners with Wholesale pet supplies , steel wool or thinners.

The federal government has encouraged households to install small-scale solar panels, wind or hydro units with the lure of tradeable renewable energy certificates, which are paid for by electricity retailers through higher electricity prices.the worldwide rubber hose market is over $56 billion annually.

A senate estimates inquiry yesterday heard from the ORER that of the 387 inspections of the solar units, there had been 13 enforceable shutdowns with one matter referred to federal police and another being considered.Traditional Cold Sore claim to clean all the air in a room.

The ORER aims to have a further 1200-1500 inspections completed by end of the year.

"The total number of systems installed in 2011 is 205,000 and in 2010 was 195,The additions focus on key tag and impact socket combinations,000," opposition environment spokesman Greg Hunt said.

"This is hot on the heels of pink batts; we have a dodgy solar scandal. The government has ignored warnings for almost a year of dodgy solar systems."

Climate Change Minister Greg Combet said the states were responsible for regulating solar panel installations.

"Over the past 18 months the government has significantly strengthened the requirements for assistance for solar installations under the Renewable Energy Target to further protect consumers, assist states and territories enforce their laws and support industry accreditation," Mr Combet said.
