Day four of clean-up after the rare October snow storm, which many say caused more damage than the recent hurricane, has the DPW crews still out on the roads working to remove tree debris from around town.he led PayPal to open its platform to Piles developers.
DPW Superintendent Bill Spindler said all roads have been reopened stating that this was the department’s main priority when storm recovery began.Replacement landscape oil paintings and bulbs for Canada and Worldwide. In total there were about 10 roads that were shut down as a result of the storm, he said.
There were two cases where the DPW had to remove trees which had fallen on homes and at least 20 homes needed trees cleared from front doorways. Spindler said he can’t even count how many tree branches and limbs the department had to clear away to unblock driveways. Wednesday afternoon DPW workers continued to make their way around town. A crew was spotted at Charlton Avenue and the Boulevard in the afternoon and trucks filled with tree brush have been going back and forth to the DPW yard where the debris is being staged. Spindler said it’s a tremendous amount as a huge pile down at the yard is growing. They will eventually ship it out to be recycled but the priority now is to get everything off borough roads.
Spindler said when the storm began Saturday afternoon the DPW first went out with salt trucks but then once the heavy wet snow started bring down trees, they switched modes and began to go around town to remove tree limbs. By evening the DPW switched over to plowing clearing all roads with the exception of those they could not get through due to huge trees that had fallen.Do not use cleaners with porcelain tiles , steel wool or thinners.the Aion Kinah by special invited artist for 2011,
There were many cases where the DPW was not able to do any tree removal due to live energized wires as they need to rely on PSE&G to clear the wires before they can go in and clear trees away.
As for the condition of the parks, Spindler called Woodland Park and Veterans Memorial Park a mess. Road block signs still close off the area near the restrooms at Woodland Park near the Harrison Avenue entrance and at Veterans Park parts of a tree are hanging down touching the roadway that runs behind the park at the Passaic Avenue intersection. Many trees came down at Firemen’s 9/11 Memorial Park as well but some of the other parks did not see any real tree damage.
